A Day at the Park With Kids

Here are some images of kids having fun at a local park that I captured this weekend. We barely beat the inclement weather, but we made it, and the overcast skies produced some very pleasing images. A lot of people think that a bright sunny day is the best time to take pictures outside, but in actuality, overcast skies give a more even lighting that helps to avoid harsh shadows and contrast. That being said, you don't want to have extremely dark skies because you won't have enough light to use adequate shutter speeds on your camera to stop action or movement. If the weather isn't overcast, then you will want to get out during the first couple of daylight hours in the morning or the last couple of hours of light in the evening when the sun is producing a warm and pleasing light. So the next time the skies are a little cloudy, don't hesitate to go out and photograph those little angels that you love so much.
